RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH DESIGN

In the process of carrying out this study, the researcher used two di8stinct methods of data collection namely:

Personal Interview, and

The use of questionnaires on (RURAL BANKING SCHEME, AMAENS OF DEVELOPING BANKING HABIT)

With special reference to the micro finance Bank Of Okeho, Oyo state. These data and information collected are expected to provide solution to the research problems and question created.

AREA OF STUDY

This research work does not cover all the financial institution in the economy as it was supposed to. It only focuses on financial Institution of Micro Finance Bank Okeho, Oyo State.

POPULATION OF THE STUDY.

The population of the study is made up of staffs of the Okeho Micro Finance Bank. Hence the population of the study includes staffs that had been in the services of the bank for more than five years and staffs that have spent less in the bank. They are up to 30 in number.

THE SAMPLE AND SAMPLING PROCEDURE.

Due to the relatively large size and the very high cost, it will take in using aggregate information of the entire Bank population, a sample was necessary in order to give fair view of this system, a sample size of 5 workers was taken.

INSTRUMENT FOR DATA COLLECTION

The research method used is based on the case study method, with a careful and thorough examination of the operation and activities of Okeho microfinance bank.
For the purpose of this research, the researcher sourced for the necessary and relevant data or information by the means of the following:

PRIMARY SOURCE

Primary data used for this project is based on questionnaire. This is the material the researcher has collected primarily for the purpose of the research work at hand.
The researcher has also been able to obtain relevant information from the respondents through oral interview and questionnaire. The interview method carried out was face to face interview. The aim was to obtain valid and reliable information from the respondent.

SECONDARY SOURCES

The secondary data used was desk research as a result of lack of materials directly focused on the word.
The secondary data was collected from journals, magazines, textbooks and vital publication on means of developing banking habit in Nigeria.

PERSONAL INTERVIEW

Personal interview gives the researcher the opportunity of getting more vital first hand information, which cannot be put across by the use of questionnaire
In the interview the staffs of Okeho microfinance bank such as these were interviewed and care was taken to avoid ambiguous questions. With the aid of this personal interview, The following points were discovered

Importance of developing Banking  habits in Nigeria.

A means of developing Banking habits in Nigeria is immeasurable in terms of the Bank’s success.

A means of developing Banking habit effort in making sound decision, in spite of the current economic depressions in the country.

METHOD OF DATA ANALYSIS

The simple proportion and percentage were used in the analysis of data collected through questionnaires. The results obtained from the analysis will help in conclusion drawing and making recommendation on means of developing banking habits in Nigeria. As a case study of Okeho microfinance bank.
