By methods of material analysis,mathematical statistics,logical analysis and based on the data from established sport social sciences and soft social sciences projects supported by General Administration of Sports of China,this paper attempts to analyze the research trends of Chinese sport social science.According to the statistics,the high-level research achievements of sports social sciences mainly comes from the key research base of sports social sciences of General Administration of Sports of China;in general,the researches mainly concentrate on domestic and provincial sports social sciences with comparatively less attention on those of foreign countries and comparison of China and other countries;proportion of basic studies,applied studies and exploratory studies is 3:18:1;they mainly focus on athletic sports,sports management,Olympics,sports industry and sports law with less attention on such topics as sports associations,sport methodology,and discipline theory.This paper concludes that studies on sports social sciences in China should concentrate mainly on strengthening basic studies,promoting interdisciplinary research,correctly guiding “hot spot” research,avoiding low-level duplication and advancing theoretical innovation of sports social sciences.
